Periodic Plates
Plate reverb is about travelling waves caused by a force converted from an electrical input signal. By recording and converting the response (velocities or mechanical stress) at an output location, we can then combine the input and output signals in a wet/dry setup to create a reverb effect.
I have used a simple dynamic model to simulate the physical behaviour of a plate reverb, and the calculated response will be a function of the chosen parameters,
- shape
- size
- thickness
- material
- damping
- output location
Some examples using Periodic Plates will be added soon.
